Campus Martius Park at 800 Woodward Avenue is an incredible green space located in the heart of downtown Detroit near the Penobscot Building, a Detroit Landmark. It represents the heart and soul of a renewed downtown Detroit as well the major avenues of Detroit radiate from Detroit’s Point of Origin in Campus Martius.
The Park is the heart and hub of activities within the commercial district of Detroit and its central gathering place. It showcases the Michigan Soldiers and Sailors monument at one corner and the Woodward Fountain amidst green spaces with French bistro chairs and tables for sitting to relax, enjoy the outdoors and the view, including people watching. The park is host to festivals, concerts and events through the year. In the summer it features culturally diverse music performances. In the winter the magnificent outdoor ice arena is the center of attraction. The Holiday Tree Lighting occurs at the head of the ice rink. During the holidays the park features carriage rides, street performances and visits with Santa.
